No, I do not have some secret access to your back pages but I do pay attention to Web traffic statistics and apparently 90 percent of the people who visit any Website online are there for information. Fewer than 10 percent are what is known as transactional, which simply means they are ready to make a transaction if the right opportunity presents itself. But let?s say 1000 people visit your Website this month. That means that 900 simply wanted information and maybe 50 were serious buyers. Those numbers are not bad.

It could be a poor Search function or it could be weak or non-existent lead capture tools. You see, so much attention is spent these days focusing on what search engines want that sometimes people forget to include what people want. Just to make things difficult, people and search engines do not necessarily respond to the same things.
THE WRONG VISITORS
Another problem to consider is that you might be getting the wrong visitors. This can happen when you are marketing with a keyword phrase that could refer to two different places. For example, there is a Portland in both Maine and in Oregon making the keyword phrase, Portland Real Estate, somewhat confusing. An agent in Portland ME might get a lot of Web visitors who really wanted information about Portland OR.
